Woofstock Toronto 2011 Part 2!

On to Gwynn related things about Woofstock!

Yeah!

But as a quick side note, Lexy told me that she thought it was funny that I added a description of the dog that the shelter was promoting next to its booth picture, in a way that I wasn’t entirely sure if she meant funny ha-ha or funny weird-and-why-did-you-do-that? So I want to point out that if you are interested in checking out the sites for more than donating/just checking it out purposes, you might want to know what kind of dog you are checking out.

Save the tiny lassies so they can be friends with your little Timmy!

One that I missed was the sheltie one, but that’s because I couldn’t fit in this picture with it, and I like to stay constant, so for those of you who want a cute little (like tiny) Lassie dog, who is not the kind of dog who will run up to strangers and jump on them, is fairly calm (with exercise) and is known to bark a bit (Alert! There is someone at the door!… got that? Kay.)

Back to Gwynn.

Gwynn had lots of fun at Woofstock for a variety of reasons, and while one of them was because Lexy (aka The Boss [Who Can Do NO Wrong]) was there, it wasn’t the MAIN reason.

Yes there were dozens of friendly Friend Dogs within easy reach on every street and block corner.

Yes this was turning out to be a very Long Walk, and while his girlfriend Sadie wasn’t there, there were still Many Friends.

No, it wasn’t because the car ride to get close wasn’t long (because it was kind of long, what with a couple of streets blocked off for this and the fact that it’s Downtown Toronto).

No it wasn’t because we didn’t make him go back into the car within 1-2 hours of getting there.

No, the reason why (at least I figure) Gwynn had so much fun at Woofstock was because everyone who owned a dog was giving him treats, everyone who was working in a booth was giving him treats, everyone who was showcasing their chewables were letting him sniff (but not chew) their chewables, and there were bits and pieces of left behind treats on the ground, waiting for him to sniffle them up.

Not to mention the fact that he could (and did, to our embarrassment) snipe treats meant for other dogs right from those dogs’ owners fingers.

Right out from that dog’s patiently waiting mouth.

As  one lady from a dog training booth said (and not in a particularly good way);

“Oh, he’s getting a Bad Habit

**lightning crackles** (not really, it lightly sprinkled for like 5 minutes near the end of our trip)

But still, he definitely made it into a Bad Habit that he (thankfully) hasn’t shown any indication of continuing (i.e. grabbing food from OUR fingers).

So yes, He LOOOVED the treats.

Aside from treat-type things, we also went around looking for things that would be good to have while camping, as well as in general on dog walks (the long kind).

One of the things that Lexy has been trying to find for a while would be a dog back pack.

There were two booths that we found that had these, and they were pretty hard to get at.

Here are the two that we found, the second one is what we bought.

1st one#2

The first one was about $57, and the second one was a little more than $40 if I remember correctly.

The one on the left had the multiple straps on the top, which impressed us along with the fact that it didn’t have a solid back part. It would mean that it would be a more comfortable fit (hopefully) since you could adjust it around the chest/ribs, the middle, and the belly.

The idea of getting a bag is to give your dog a ‘job’, thus giving it something that it feels that it needs to do, as well as working it out slowy. You work up the weight in the pack, and eventually you can load water bottles and traeats into it, and then an hour long walk will give the exercise of about twice as long.

Yay for that, eh? Especially if you have a dog  that needs a LOT of exercise.

Really, we just got to check out a couple of different things, and see some cute dogs, so here’s the pictures 😀

Inne so CUTE!He even has his own Biker accessory 😀

"ORGANS! GETCH'YER ORGANS HERE!" called one booth. Gwynn perked his ears in interest...

If he could, he would have smuggled this one away in a nostril or something…

More Woofstock pictures will likely be put up in the near future, or else after I get back from Grundy Park, sometime after August 28th.

Hope you all enjoyed!

Ciao for now
