Video Vendredi – Of Wolves and Babies

Awesome, I’ve been sticking to this, eh?

Today’s video I found on DeviantArt. The person who made this used paper cut outs and shadows, and I thought this was pretty darn cool 🙂

It’s a play on all those stories about wolves stealing babies… Werewolf or otherwise. I always thought those myths seemed pretty silly. A wolf (or werewolf, whatever) managing to get into your house, steal your baby (rather than eat it right there), keep it alive while carrying it off (A wild animal carrying it by it’s swaddling maybe? And why would they want to keep it alive anyway?) until you have the chance to find the baby missing and hunt the wolf down. You may not find it, and all will be sad. You may find a lone wolf instead, and kill it as it was possibly obviously the one to kill the baby.

Silly.

Real life? A wolf comes in, pisses on your floor, kills your baby, eats a great deal of it, and either you come home and freak out, or wolf goes away and you come home to freak out.

OR: You lost/sold your child, and go out in search (or in ‘search’) of it. Find a wolf and kill it if you can’t find (or ‘find’) the baby that you lost/sold.

Cheerful.

But this short video is cool, with flute music that was used amazingly with shadow birds, the wolf, and other animals.

Hope you all enjoy! Have a happy Friday!

Also, it’s Friday the 13th? For all those superstitious, the reason why this day is supposedly ‘unlucky’ is because it was believed that there used to be 13 months, and witches would do some sort of horrific magic every week of this month. So, the calendar was shortened to only 12 months (solves the problem, doesn’t it? They HAVE to follow this new calendar), but since Friday the 13th came so rarely, it was possible that the witches could do this horrible magic on this day.

Unlucky, that.

Musical Mondays – Peter Hollens A Capella

I really want to play Skyrim.

Like, really really, it’s so cool!

I had this desire renewed from it’s lull after watching another Lindsey Stirling video, but the video was also by Peter Hollens (who is By the by, AMAZING and does a capella), and his stuff was introduced to me as well.

So here is the Skyrim video that I have been listening to so much of lately.

This is just full of amazing, and I hope you check out Peter Hollens and Lindsey Stirling, and HERE is a link to one of Peter Hollens Music videos. (Somebody that I used to know)

Hope you all enjoy! Have a nice Easter Monday, and My apologies for this coming out so late. I was just sending off my family from visiting me this long weekend.

Musical Mondays – Lindsey Stirling Violinist

Hope your Monday is better than you think it’ll be!

Also see her song TRANSCENDENCE for more coolness. All of hr songs are amazing 😀

Also her song Crystallize for one of the coolest looking places I’ve seen!

I Don’t Believe in WAITING!

FINAL UPDATE FOR THIS! See HERE for anything else on my journey through this ordeal…

So, I finally watched The Last Episode Of The Second Season Of BBC Sherlock.

Which means I have to wait until around Christmas (approximately, maybe January) for the next part season.

I should have waited….

I have been re-watching the series with a couple of friends, one of whom hadn’t seen the series before. I kind of maybe sort of forced her to watch it, but since her computer hates Sherlock, we have been watching it, one episode a night, with my laptop set on top of a juice box packaging container on op of a chair with the screen as bright as can be and the volume as high as it can go.

Today (Wednesday) is a small break for her because she has to review some things she doesn’t get in class, as well as catching up on sleep.

But my other friend (of the two who watched the series with me) hadn’t finished watching the second episode of season 2, and she wouldn’t be able to watch it tomorrow night, so I watched it with her tonight.

It was awesome, as all episodes of BBC Sherlock are.

But, at the end of it, and I knew it was coming, she tuned to me with a smile and said “Let’s watch the next episode”

It was only 9.

It would be over soon enough if we did watch it, 10:30, 10:40 if there was bathroom breaks.

It felt like something inside of me was shrivelling up when I set up the next episode…

Five minutes into the episode and I wanted to turn it off, wait until the next season came out.

Ten minutes later that same part of me that shrivelled up was screaming at me to turn it off! Black out the screen, mute it! TURN IT OFF! YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE EPISODE!

That shrivelled prune squirmed inside me and threw a massive hissy fit for another five minutes before it got distracted enough by the episode that it only remembered to start screaming again a little less than an hour and a half later. Or, as I’m realizing now, It could have been Insanity having tied it up. Possibly with the help of Sanity. I mean, Sherlock is amusing and interesting and the end of the first season nearly drove me mad, so that must have been amusing for Insanity… But also, being afraid of watching the last episode of the second season isn’t terribly rational, so shutting up that fear of WHY-MUST-I-WAIT-FOR-THE-NEXT-SEASON!!?!?! makes sense. It’s like ripping off a band-aid, best get it over with quickly, Sanity might say. But it can also be like ripping it off in a pool, so that you’re grossed out every time you see it floating there in the water, because you’re never quite sure if that one’s yours, Insanity might add. Probably with a smile…

But then again, Insanity would be that gross kid in the pool who would pick up the band-aid and whip it at you to gross you out.

In any case, by the end of the episode, that Shrivelled Thing was back to screaming.

You’re going to regret this! WHY DID YOU WATCH IT! YOU’RE GOING TO DIE! What the hell??? TURN IT OFF BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!

The ending was already spoiled for me, so I knew what was going to happen…. so I watched the episode through the screams of that shrivelled part of me, watched as what was spoiled unfolded (nice mental image, that), watched all the way through, and now it is with a heavy heart that I await the next season to come out. Why didn’t I wait? I probably could have waited for the next season to be out before watching it…

Perhaps the band-aid was not ready to come off.

But it’s off, and if I’m going by Dad’s philosophy of band-aids, it’s better to not put back on another band-aid. It’s best to air the wound, put on some Polysporin, and besides, it’s not even bleeding…

Watching the episode was probably less like taking off a band-aid, and likely more like putting Polysporin on a scrape.

*sigh* Fun times.

I seriously can’t wait until the next season comes out…

For all those who want to watch the show, go to THIS LINK HERE and watch, and become a fan, and love it.

Also, for those who Read my post HERE about how much I miss my dog, and are curious about what I named my stuffed dog, my friends and I figured out its name.

Benedict Scott. As in Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Andrew Scott (Moriarty).

AND because I have two middle names (Elizabeth Rose), my manly stuffed dog also has two middle names. They weren’t really my choice, but I think it works.

Benedict Simba Rafiki Scott. Scott-Cumberbatch if you don’t want the last name to end so abruptly.

According to the internet, if you look up the meanings of each name, my dog’s name means (in full):

Blessed Lion Friend Of Scottish Origin

Which is funny because he’s a dog.

But my Benny Scott confused dog-lion friend is mine and may be species confused but will never be confused for anyone else’s 😀

Thank’s all 😀

Video Vendredi – Lost Your Reading

I’m not great at speaking french, and am better at understanding it than speaking it if that makes any sense, But Lexy has Wordless Wednesdays and now I’m having this 😛

Video Vendredi will have videos I think are amusing/amazing, have been suggested to me by friends, and occasionally will be very ‘what the hell?’ worthy.

Today, it is something that has been rated the best animated short 😀

Enjoy

Thoughts?

BBC Sherlock and OMYGODOMYGODOMYGODOMYGOD!

I like Mystery series, it’s why I like Death Note so much, it’s why I ruin books for myself by guessing and guessing the killer/ending and being right in some fashion…

It’s why I was so excited to get ‘Mastiff‘, the latest book by Tamora Pierce in her Becka Cooper series.

I like stories that get my blood pumping because I just can’t guess what will happen next, and it’s often hard to find those books when I go looking for them.

It’s why I find fanfiction so great and also so boring. You never find the stories you’re looking for under the right category, and I seriously wish that I could have my own personal category labeled ‘unexpected’…

BBC’s Sherlock series is one that I walked in on my family watching when it was first airing. I didn’t even get the first half hour or so of it, but I decided to sit down anyway.

And, in the way of most of the females in my family, I sat down with a book, so that if I got bored I could read.

Many times it’s a book I’ve already read, but…

But I don;t remember what book it was that I was reading, but I didn’t pick it up once I got a bit more ‘caught up’ with what had already happened, because awkward conversations and silences and interesting characters and unexpected turns caught me and kept my undivided attention in much the same way a piece of string might for a cat.

Or perhaps a particularly interesting bit of empty space.

I bet the expression on my face was much the same.

Dad even stayed awake through the entire first 90 minute long episode.

This series has had so much thought put into it that each episode is 90 minutes long…

Granted, the first season (and from what I’ve read of the second, as well) has a grand total of 3 episodes, but holy frig are they entrancing!

I’ve been rewatching the first season and giggling through more than 2/3 of it, seeing little cues and clues that I didn’t see or didn’t connect to when I watched it the first time, and I JUST finished watching the last episode for the first season and I frankly have NO idea how I survived the massive cliffhanger that they left off with…

For those who haven’t seen this series, I am almost jealous that you get to go straight through that awful bout of anxiety and waiting and are able to go to the next episode in the series….

I HAVE NO CLUE HOW I SURVIVED!

And I am once again hit with the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch (poor name, yes) is a number of things, and being hot as hell is not the only thing.

To the left, hottie mentioned above, to the right, older hottie to be mentioned below

He is also a fantastic actor and pulls off his own kind of awkward that makes you love him.

Very similar to, and I’m making this comparison for people who haven’t yet known the awesome that is BBC Sherlock, the awkwardness in The Big Bang Theory that is personified in Sheldon Cooper.

But, and he has an older hotness about him, there is also Martin Freeman!

He’s Fantastic!

I am fangirl-ing all over this series, all over these actors!

It doesn’t help that I’m still on the OMYGODOMYGODOMYGOD high of exciting and cliffhanger and awesome and FANTASTICness of I haven’t seen the next episode yet high, and even though I’ve already seen a lot of it, and due to a friend who thought too much of me had a good deal of it spoiled for me…

I still expect that, just as I JUST did over the first season which I have already seen before, I am going to have a sped up mantra of “Oh my god oh my god holy shit holy shit oh my god he’s so cute fffffuuuuuuuuucccckkkkkkk oh my god” running through my head as I watch the next couple of episodes.

Okay, calmed down a bit, I’m going to end this by saying that if you haven’t watched it, watch at least the first episode, and THEN decide. It is amazing. I love it and the characters even if the one playing Sherlock has an unfortunate name.

Here’s a LINK to where you can watch the first episode. Click on the dark rectangle with green circle, and wait a couple of seconds before clicking play. 😀

It’s not fair how good this is…

Also, I’ve avoided giving any spoilers, and a cliffhanger in a mystery isn’t all that unusual or unexpected, so.

***NOTE TO FAMILY MEMBERS***: I’m working, just decided that it was time for a break so I spent a couple of hours watching Sherlock. It’s a good waste of time if it is a waste of time.

*EDIT!*: I just started watching the first episode in the second season and all I can say is “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHAAAHHAHAHAHAH HOLY FRIGGING HELL!”

**EDIT!**: To explain that one of my friends thought too much of me… she’s under the impression that I watch everything before she does. I am used to having to wait a bit to talk about a show or an episode with her, and am also used to her coming up to me all excited about what just happened in so-and-so 😛 I was not that amused when she didn’t catch on quickly enough that I had no clue that the continuation of the series had been out, and that she had watched everything she could in order to ‘keep up’ with me, and spilled a number of thins that didn’t make sense but spoiled a number of things. So. Let it be known that you should always CHECK if someone has seen something before bursting with spoilers.

Sherlock is still awesome though 😛

***EDIT!!***: I still haven’t watched the last episode, and it’s due to a number of things, one of which is that I know it’ll likely have a huge cliffhanger like the first season, and second because I had a number of things spoiled for me, and another reason is because I just don’t want to see the last episode until there’s the next season out. But I will end up watching it when I can no longer wait, and I will likely edit this once more with something along the lines of “WHYYYYYYYYYYYY????? Why must it be overrrrr!?!?!?!”

****EDIT****: I was just about to watch the next episode, but then I chickened out. 😦 I’m a coward. But I WILL watch it before next year…. so.

NEW! Check out HERE for my last update for this.
